I’m seriously considering a used 2.0t AWD model as my next car. I’ve driven the sedan and liked it quite a bit. This post c ould also be titled “d epreciation is beautiful”

I find the proportions a bit off. IDK why.

Good looking car. Fun to drive- great chassis and steering, good visibility. But, tacky instrument cluster remisnscent of 90s GMs. CUE is bad and also the phone like touch “buttons”. Small trunk.
Why not the 3.6V6? I drove the sedan version and it was a great pairing for the car. 2.0T has some problems read up about it on the forums.

I’m normally a “coupes only ” person, but something about the ATS coupe’s proportions seem off to me. I think the sedan is the more attractive version.

Cost primarily, V6s are trending about 5-6k more than the 2.0t . Plus for a daily driver, the 270hp from the 2.0 is plenty enough. Been looking at MY 2016+ as they made huge upgrades to CUE, it’ s compatible with Apple car play and is said to be more responsive than the original cue in my family’s ‘14 ATS. I honestly don’t mind the analog cluster, I currently daily a 15 year old V olvo that has an in dash LCD screen who’s closest relative is an 19 80s C asio watch.

Damn good looking car. Especially in that color. I think it's a good choice.

Why not a Camaro? Lil bit lighter, better suspension and handling, cheaper, and no shitty CUE.

Isn't the coupe basically a Camaro with decent visibility and a back seat.

Spend an hour with Cue and the Hacktick buttons.
If the dash survives your rage , it’s perfectly fine.
Also disregard the people who talk shit about the LTG. It’s fine.
(But so help me god if you turn up the boost I will fucking remove the head bolts by way of your anus using air tools.)

It’s the tall beltline, makes the green hous e look shrunken.

Get an SS with Magn etic Ride Co ntrol and drive it so fast no one has a chance to see your mullet. Boom, problem solved.

Helped put my Gma in the 4-door version. 2.0T AWD performance trim. That car is so much fun.

Also keep in mind the 2.0 runs on premium and the V6 runs regular. Probably not enough t o make up for a 5-6k difference though.

AWD because Michigan! Also I can spend less and get a much nicer interior while still having the alpha platform, and hopefully insurance would be cheaper on a Cadillac than a camaro SS.

It’s terrible which is why I’m looking at MY16+ when they brought in Apple CarPlay and upgraded the cue software to be slightly less terrible.

I was thinking about this myself. It's a handsome car, and it's very versatile. If the Cue system isn't perfect, don't worry about it. The journos amplify these complaints, as they need something to complain about. It's a car not a phone.

Is it wrong that I only consider a Cadillac worth buying these days to be a Cadillac truck? I think they’re pretty and in the case of most, up to a modern ‘cool’ standard. I just picture an Escalade every time I heard Cadillac anymore.

Cue really isn’t shitty just old first edition cue was la ggy.. The latest cue system which is on the ATS doesn’t even look or act the same and is fantastic.. Besides the cue and camaros infotainment structure is exac tly the same... I used to be a sales consultant for caddy while renting a camaro and was not too surprised .. Cadillac just “brands” it cue. Buick shares it as well. Cadillac ha s best polished looked if them all and that is what you pay for in Cadillac.. Look at new Chevy blazer Vs xt5 ..unreal what GM gets away with. And FYI the camaro shares same driving architecture of Ats believe it or not and cannot out handle an Ats(especially ATS 4) .. I’ve driving both. Now with all the bs I’ve said.. I’ll take a 2018 SS over a ATS-V.. Anything less than a SS and the scales tip dramatically.

Wrong premium is recommend for top performance s. The 2.0t LTG code engine in Ats and Camano both can run on 87 no problem! Just don't constantly switch between grades

My 13 2.0t ATS had 2 sets of pistons replaced before a complete motor was replaced, all under warranty . It’s a very real issue.

Er, except the ‘13 is the very first year of the LTG and it was a very small number of very early engines that weren’t assembled correctly. For ‘14+, the worst common problem is coking at 30-35k. Same as every other DI engine.

It’s only slightly less terrible though, and the hacktick buttons are still pretty goddamn bad IMHO.
Also note that if you get a V? Either you have performance recorder from the factory, or you don’t have it period . It’s a fucking terrible design in that regard, to say the least.
